Meet Our Founder

Hey Tribe!

I'm Brandie Bishop (She/Her), I consider myself to be a very passionate, humors, and courageous person, dedicating my life to serving families during their most vulnerable times. Proud to have been born and raised in Inkster, Michigan, I now call Georgia home sweet home.

My journey into supporting families began at the age of 14 when I was a part of my first business startup and began working at a homeless center. I then went on to earn my Degree in Family Child Development with a minor in Sociology and Psychology. Right out of school I focused on serving pregnant refugee women from around the world, which challenged my thoughts on how pregnancy, labor, delivery, and the immediate postpartum period should be experienced.

Over the course of nearly 10 years, I have supported the births of over 150 families from nearly 45 different countries. As a Birth Work Professional, I have used my passion for birthing and postpartum persons to provide the best possible support during pregnancy, birth, and beyond. Additionally, as a Mentor and Instructor, I have fallen in love with training the birth workers of tomorrow to be the change they want to see in the world.

Now, as the Owner and CEO of the National Black Doulas Association, my ultimate goal is to see BIOPC Births and Birth Work Businesses Whole and Thriving, and the Maternal Mortality Rate in our country radically changed.

It’s your turn! Take a look around and book a time for us to connect.
